Welcome to Excel Compressor Engineering
Excel Compressor Engineering is the North West's leading supplier of EnergAir products.
The Economics of Energy Saving Translate into Improved Profits...
In today 's pressurised global economy the economics of energy saving make sound financial sense. International agreements on global warming mean that companies have to undertake energy saving measures as a matter of course if they are not to suffer financially from government legislation. However, what is not widely realised is that the savings made, often at relatively low cost to their ongoing value, are a direct profit contribution to a company's bottom line.
Compressed Air Represents 10% of Industrial Electrical Consumption, but Much is Wasted...
EnergAir, a highly experienced energy efficiency consultancy, help companies achieve these savings. The consultancy concentrates on the compressed air user, putting in place control and monitoring products that will make a noticeable difference in a matter of days. This is important because compressed air represents 10% of all industrial electrical consumption and in many cases, companies use their compressors inefficiently and have inadequate distribution systems.
Energy Savings of as much as 35% Achievable...
EnergAir's twin aims are to reduce the electrical consumption of these systems and to increase their efficiency. By applying EnergAir's control philosophy, together with industry best practice, savings of as much as 35% should be achievable.
Specialist Partners Ensure Service at Local Level...
EnergAir covers Europe and the US with a network of local Specialist Partners who are able to advise on ways to improve compressed air system performance. The range of services offered include air performance audits, monitoring, and putting best practice operating procedures alongside intelligent control technology to continuously improve compressed air system efficiency and reduce downtime.
Technology
Compressor Control Systems
Controls target system pressure within fine limits to reduce generating costs, and ensures that the most efficient compressors (irrespective of manufacturer or type) are employed in the most efficientcombination to suit a given demand.
A series of modular interfacing products provide a method of connection to all types of compressors. Cable, data and wireless communication methods can be used to connect compressors to the system allowing any configuration of site compressors to be harnessed and controlled.

Expansion - Compressor & compressor system monitoring
Extends the scope of the Enercon management control system by including the monitoring of equipment such as common alarms, oil temperature, condition of rolling bearings, dryer & filter element condition, the latter which condition the air quality to the pipe work system. Additionally, expansion modules can also enable condition monitoring of supporting compressor house equipment such as water pumps and fans to be undertaken, along with compressor house and ambient temperatures.
Expansion - PC integration / visualisation & remote services:
Providing the necessary hardware and software to deliver a complete local or remote compressed air supervisory, control and optimisation solution. The software enables plant supervisors to monitor and routinely review system performance, identifying and implementing operational cost reductions and quality improvements direct from a PC screen.
Remotely, users and service providers can benefit from round the clock system condition monitoring and automated response, including alarm management. The communications feature also enables "7-day spot" efficiency reports to be downloaded from the system, quarterly, and delivered to the user, via E-mail, in a popular and easy-to-use PDF file format.
Retrofit Variable Speed Drive systems:
Retrofit variable speed drive systems are designed for use with positive displacement air compressors and include all necessary components to complete integration of the drive with the compressor (excluding cable). The drive converts a fixed speed air compressor to a variable speed drive air compressor and is fully compatible for integration with the Enercon management system.
Retrofit 'Dewpoint Dependant Switching':
Used to convert conventional desiccant air dryers to dewpoint dependant switching, making considerable savings where clean compressed air is used inefficiently to re-generate 'wet' or saturated desiccant beds.
Consultancy
Excel Compressor Engineering Ltd. offers compressed air users independent advice on how to reduce the electrical consumption of compressed air systems.
We specialise in the 'independent' site monitoring of compressed air equipment which focuses on system performance and efficiency.

ALERT! System
The Simple & Economical way to Drive Down Compressed Air Energy Costs...Without Capital Outlay
EnergAir's new ALERT system gives compressed air users all the benefits of the market leading Enercon Air Management System 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, but without capital investment, installation and commissioning costs.
Designed For Small, Medium and Large Companies
The ALERT system means that small and medium size companies, as well as large concerns, can now implement the most comprehensive energy saving measures available and achieve compressed air energy savings of as much as 35%. Companies can offset the savage cost increases resulting from the implementation of the Climate Change Levy and benefit from detailed condition monitoring.
Low Cost Monthly Fee is Typically Lower than Savings Delivered
ALERT is a new, low cost monthly plan that allows users to epitomise the control, monitoring, management and maintenance aspects of their compressed air systems without any capital outlay. Instead, users pay a monthly fee, which, typically, is lower than the annual energy savings realized through the use of the Enercon system.
Why Do Companies Need ALERT?
The ALERT system is an effective answer to recent industry research, which concluded that the operating costs of running multiple compressed air installations without some form of management control could be more than 30% higher than they should be. Compressed air is produced using electricity, its generation being equivalent to about 10% of industry's total electricity usage, rising to 30% in some sectors. This highlights why companies have compelling reasons to investigate the potential for energy saving in this area.
ALERT Package Includes all Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance
All the initial evaluation work necessary to calculate the potential energy savings for a particular compressor installation and the subsequent installation and commissioning of the Enercon Management system and its remote parts is undertaken by EnergAir, or by one of its appointed specialist partners. This is also the case for maintenance of the ALERT pack during the term of the contract, and for the high levels of ongoing support provided to the user.
